Internet Speed Test

Measure your connection download speed, upload speed, and ping to verify ISP performance and ensure smooth streaming, gaming, and video calls.

Internet Speed Test

Introduction

This Internet Speed Test measures your connection’s download speed, upload speed, and latency (ping). It’s built for everyday users, gamers, streamers, and remote workers who need a quick check to confirm if their ISP is delivering the speed they pay for and whether the line is stable enough for calls, gaming, or video.

What is this tool?

A speed test sends and receives data between your device and a nearby test server, then measures how fast those transfers complete and how quickly packets travel (latency). Results are shown as download Mbps, upload Mbps, and ping in milliseconds. Higher download/upload and lower ping mean a faster, more responsive connection.

Why use this tool?

- Verify ISP speed: Check if you’re getting the bandwidth you’re paying for.
- Streaming readiness: Confirm if HD/4K streaming will be smooth.
- Gaming suitability: Low, stable ping is critical for online games.
- Remote work calls: Ensure video calls won’t stutter due to low upload or high latency.
- Troubleshooting: Identify if slow performance is network-related before blaming apps or devices.

How to use it

1) Close or pause large downloads/streams to get a clean measurement.
2) If possible, connect via Ethernet or stand near your Wi-Fi router.
3) Click “Start Speed Test.”
4) Review download Mbps, upload Mbps, and ping (ms).
5) Compare against your plan’s advertised speeds; retest at different times to spot congestion.

Example

- Download: 95 Mbps
- Upload: 18 Mbps
- Ping: 12 ms
Interpretation: Solid for 4K streaming, gaming, and video conferencing.

FAQ

Do you store my results?

No—tests are used only to measure speed in real time and aren’t retained.

Why do results vary?

Wi‑Fi quality, distance from the router, interference, peak-hour congestion, VPNs, and the test server’s location all affect results. Try multiple tests at different times and, if possible, with a wired connection.

Should I disable VPNs?

Yes. VPNs can lower speed and raise latency. Test with and without the VPN to compare.

What speeds do I need?

- HD streaming: ~5–10 Mbps download per stream.
- 4K streaming: ~20–25 Mbps download per stream.
- Video calls: ~2–3 Mbps up/down per participant; stable upload and low ping matter.
- Gaming: Low ping (ideally <30–50 ms) is more important than very high download.
