QR Code Generator

Instantly generate QR codes (URL, vCard, Wi‑Fi, text, geo, event) with selectable size, error correction, and PNG/SVG export for web and print.

QR Code Generator

Introduction

The QR Code Generator creates QR codes instantly from text, URLs, contact cards, Wi‑Fi credentials, geo coordinates, calendar events, and more. It’s handy for marketers, event organizers, developers, and everyday users who need a scannable way to share links, contact info, or connection details across print and digital media.

What is this tool?

A QR (Quick Response) code encodes data in a two‑dimensional barcode that smartphones and scanners can read. This tool builds QR images on demand with selectable size, error correction level, and output format (PNG/SVG). You can generate one-off static codes or produce many variants quickly, export high-resolution images for print, or embed SVG for responsive web use.

Why use this tool?

  • Share links easily: Turn URLs into scannable links for posters, menus, and business cards.
  • Offline distribution: Add Wi‑Fi credentials or vCards to printed materials so users can connect or save contacts by scanning.
  • Marketing & tracking: Use dynamic QR (shortened/redirecting URLs) for campaign analytics when available.
  • Versatile output: Export PNG for web and print or SVG for crisp scaling and embedding.
  • Bulk generation: Produce many QR codes quickly for catalogs, product labels, or inventory tags.

How to use it

  1. Select the payload type (URL, Text, vCard, Wi‑Fi, SMS, Email, Geo, Event).
  2. Enter the data (e.g., URL or Wi‑Fi SSID/password) and optional label/description.
  3. Choose size, margin, and error correction level (L, M, Q, H). Higher error correction allows logos/partial damage but increases code density.
  4. Pick output format (PNG for bitmaps, SVG for vectors) and color options (foreground/background). Optionally upload a small logo to center (use H/ECC settings accordingly).
  5. Click “Generate” and download or copy the image/embed code. For print, export high-DPI PNG or SVG/PDF as supported.

Examples

  • URL: https://example.com → downloadable PNG/SVG for posters.
  • Wi‑Fi (WPA): SSID: MyNet, Password: s3cret → scan to auto-join Wi‑Fi.
  • vCard: Name, phone, email → scan to save contact directly to phone.

FAQ

Do you store the data I encode?
No — generation is done in real time and data is not retained unless you explicitly use any dynamic/shortening feature that requires a redirect URL and tracking. If your deployment logs requests, disclose this in your Privacy Policy.

What error correction level should I choose?
L (7%) smallest and densest; M (15%) default; Q (25%) good if minor damage/printing issues expected; H (30%) best for logos or heavy wear. Higher ECC increases the QR complexity and may require larger image sizes.

Can I put a logo inside the QR?
Yes—use higher error correction (Q or H) and keep the logo small and centered. Always test across devices before mass printing.

What size is recommended for print?
For typical smartphone scanning, print QR codes at least 2 x 2 inches (5 x 5 cm) for short URLs; increase size for denser codes or longer data. Use vector (SVG/PDF) for best print fidelity.

What is a dynamic QR?
A dynamic QR points to a short redirect URL so you can change the destination later and track scans. Static QR directly encodes the payload and cannot be changed after printing.

Why won’t my QR scan?
Common causes: too small size for the data density, low contrast between foreground/background, excessive logo size, low-print quality, or damaged/curved surfaces. Increase size, contrast, or ECC and retest.
